Who we are

At Backface we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of all our visitors, whether browsing our website, visiting us at our studio or we meet at an event.  We don’t trade, rent or sell email lists with other people – that’s simply not what we do.  To be as transparent as possible, in this Privacy Policy we’ve oprvied lots of detail on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and the limited conditions under which it may be discussed to others and how we keep it secure.

Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

Cookies are small data files which are placed on your computer or other devices as you browse our website.  Cookies ‘remember’ when your device accesses our website.  Like most websites, uses cookies to collect information.  This includes information about pages viewed, products purchased and the journey around our website.

3D Scans

If you have a 3D scan taken by us either in our studio or at an event, we will take your name and email address.  This information is used to email you a link to view the 3D scan online once it has finished processing and to inform you when any relevant offer may be expiring.  You can opt to not receive any of these emails by simply clicking ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of any email we send out.  To view the scan, we use a 3D service provider (sketchfab) to display the 3D model, it is displayed online with your first name and initial and no further personal data is exchanged with them.  We do not post scans or 3D figures on our social media accounts unless we’ve been given consent to do so by the subject of the scan.

Mailing Lists

If you choose to sign up for our mailing list, we’ll need you email address, we also ask for your name in order to personalise the emails we send out.  Your personal details are not shared with any third parties and you can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing

Order Information

If you make a purchase with us, your name, address, email and contact number will be stored in our order system and if the product is being delivered, your details will be passed to Royal Mail or another courier to deliver the order.  The delivery agent cannot use your information for any other purpose other than aiding delivery of your order from us.  Your details from the order will be stored in our accounting software so that we can keep track of purchase information and provide receipts when requested.
